Shenzhen (pronounced Shenzen)
Shenzhen (Shenzen) growing the size of Toronto every MONTH! Most things are under 40 years old. I liked the hotel here because it was modern and new. The other hotels have some beautiful architecture but this is new and clean looking. Got up this morning here and was going for a run. Randy grumbled and said 'Ok, I'll go because I'll just worry about you'. So we went to the gym and were there at 6am but they didnt open till 7am. So we ran in the basement hallway which took 4 minutes to run it quite fast and it was a big spacious empty marble hallway with beautiful carpets and furniture all just empty. We commented that the security guards were probably all watching us-but we never got kicked out. Our plane ride was late so we missed most of the China cultural centre and just got to watch the last dance of the show we were supposed to watch. It was a state park that had all the red lanterns and music and it looked magical in the dark. We went for a traditional round table/lazy Susan type dinner. One lady took a piece of meat and didn't notice until it was on her plate that it was the fried head of a small duck with the eyes and beak in it and all!! It was clear to see when we recognized it wasn't just KFC fried chicken of some sort! Haha.
