Cities all full of these apartment housing Saw lots of Pagoda's and unique architecture Randy at the Great Wall in Bejing One of the Historical World Heritage Sites We stopped on the side of the road and the tour paid this couple some money if we could see inside a 'typical Chinese farm!  They were honored to let us in. The grandchildren were just making their lunch-a cut up chicken in a wok boiling in some water!  Across the street from Tienaman Square

Couples Messauge

April 6: Went to a couples messauge today! It was so fun to think of Randy soaking in the flower peddled bath with me hehe.  (Picture) Let me just say: Massage is quite indiscreet here compared to Canada! But it was a fun experience to do together!

April 7 What a day!  I thought the best part about my day was going to be when I got up in the morning at 5:40 and went for a run to see the sunrise!  It was absolutely SO beautiful and peaceful and breathtaking! I loved it!  I stopped along the way to get some amazing pictures to remember! I was so happy I did this and again so happy to have a body that can do this! Thank you Heavenly Father!  THEN we had to be at the front by 7:30 am..Oh..I have to tell you the breakfasts are fantastic. All you can eat of any kind of food!  I have some fruit, smoked salmon, a poached egg, sushi and miso soup for breakfast every morning!  It is SO good. Then we only eat at supper again. Randy likes his 'breakfast' food for breakfast, so we are both happy with our choices!  The first night we went to a Chinese restaurant and I really didn't want to go there-but it was his choice!  Wow-I was wrong! I will never think of Chinese food the same again! It was SO goo...

The Great Wall of China-Bejing

Image
Walked the Great Wall of China in Bejing AND had fun SHOPPING!!  I learned how to barter!  We have been on 13 planes in 25 days and travelled on busses and trains and a 4 day boat cruise down the Yantzee River.  Here are the rest of the pictures of our trip!  Absolutely loved our trip! It surpassed any expectations and preconceived ideas about China!  I LOVE CHINA and cherish all the learning moments of exploring a new country! I think our next trip will be to India now to learn all about that country!

Zhangjiajie

Image
Zhangjiajie (Gung chi chee) This was Randy's favorite day. They are called the Mystical Fairyland mountains is what they are called. It is famous because this is where the avatar movie was filmed. It was absolutely beautiful!    The next day we went to another of the zhangjiajie mountains and walked across an open glass floor overlooking the striking mountains and took a gondola down. But to get up the mountain you walk on these really steep old steps that only go about 1/2 of your foot and about 1000 steps. You get scared turning around and looking where you are because you get tippy.    Then you take about a 20 minute escalator car up the mountain which just seems to keep going and going! And its steep like the mind the gap escalators in London. In the evening we went to an unbelievable show outdoors right in the middle of the mountains with props and lighting that you can't even describe. I've never seen a setting and production so fantastic as this one. I...

Guangzhou

Image
Guangzhou (Ganzoo) (14 million people-a typical city size) Panda zoo/Circus show/.   Yesterday we got up early to run and we went on the public road for about 2 minutes until a police officer came up to us and demanded in a yelling voice to 'stop running, stop running, stop running!'  (When we got back Randy wanted his picture taken by this car!)  We quickly walked back onto the hotel property and had a great run running around the lush hilly hotel which took about 10 minutes to run around. I seem to like running with Randy because I get his full attention and he listens to me talk when I run which he doesn't like to do otherwise. He doesn't mean not to, its just that he doesn't get anything emotionally out of listening to me so its nice when I can talk and he appreciates me passing the time by talking so he can use his energy for running, AND I think he actually has a good time afterall listening to me and ends up talking with me than he would otherwise.  ...

Guilin

Image
Guilin (Pronounced: Gwaylin-with a question mark tone at the end) Li river/Pagotas/Reed Flute cave/noodles-food) It is so humid here that you can start to sweat just standing there-as if you are having a night sweat all of a sudden! When we first got there at  10pm  we checked into our hotel and quickly went out for a walk around this pagoda and park. It was so beautiful and tranquil and lush. (We are definitely the young ones and we both said we are glad we travel like this when we are young because some of the people have a hard time getting around) At  11pm  the lights immediately went off in the whole city we were in. Everything closed  within 5 minutes -all the shops and lights went out and it quickly turned from a beautiful quiet walk to eery and we walked home fast!!    We saw some stalagmites and statagtites cave which was ok-seen it before, but the highlight was the Li River!     It was SUCH a beautiful majestic place. What make...
